So, I think I'm ready to jump in and get a tune (probably from Lethal Performance) and now I finally see the SCT Software for adjusting & creating the tunes is available and its what I've wanted. Has anyone bought the Advantage III software and maybe the tuning manual? Software seems reasonably priced and the Racer manual maybe a bit steep at $135 for only 120 pages but if the technical content is good, then its probably worth it. Like to hear some comments / feedback on how good is the software - all aspects, installation, stability, data logging, ease of use, updates via the internet. Strange, when I contacted SCT directly, their quote was significantly more than $395. They would only sell it together with an on-line tune training course, and a 'dealer' sign-up.

I didn't get the impression that SCT intended to sell this directly to individuals! Seems like without at least the 'race manual' (probably included in the course?) you could do a lot of damage. If you buy this, and it works out, please post the how/what/gotchas. Does this bypass the std. PCM ID lock copy protection, where your stock strategy is only retained in the X3 itself?
